A Simple "Check" this Tax Season Helps Us Help Her!
Since 2012, Girl Scouts is one of the charitable organizations eligible to receive voluntary contributions from taxpayers who choose to use the Michigan Voluntary Contributions Schedule (Form 4642) when they file their State of Michigan individual tax return.
Residents throughout the state of Michigan are being asked to consider this option when filing their 2013 Michigan state taxes. All funds generated by the voluntary contribution program are returned to local Girl Scout councils across Michigan to assist in providing a girl-centered, quality leadership experience.
Please note, State of Indiana Income Tax Incentives for Girl Scouts are not
available at this time. However, if you are an Indiana Resident and would like to make a tax deductible contribution to Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana, please click here.
How it Works...
- Download the Michigan Voluntary Contributions Schedule (Form 4642)
- At Line 4, Girl Scouts of Michigan Fund, check the box associated with the dollar amount you wish to contribute in columns A or B or enter a specific dollar amount greater than $10 in the space provided in column C.
- Enter the total of your contribution for each line in column D.
- Attach completed form to Form MI-1040.
Your donation will automatically be deducted from your refund. If you are not receiving a refund, your donation will increase your tax due. Your donation will go to the Girl Scout Council that serves your local Michigan school district.
Thank you in advance for helping GSNI-M in our mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place!
