Since the approval of Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana's Strategic Priorities in late 2009, the board, staff and volunteers have been working on the Property Key Priority which stated that we would "strategically review and align the properties to ensure financial viability to support programs, pathways and volunteers".
A major part of 2010 was spent assessing the portfolio of properties we owned. Now, in this third year of the strategic plan we are beginning the work of aligning the remaining properties with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and Programs and Pathways. We want to make sure this alignment will resonate with girls and adult volunteers in addition to ensuring the remaining property portfolio can be sustained both now and in the future. As we near our 100th Anniversary in 2012, we are looking at our camp property portfolio and how we can bring this important body of assets into the 21st century, modernizing our camps and providing a 21st century outdoor leadership experience for our girls. In order to accomplish that task we have started the master planning project.
