Complete essential Girl Scout training! Plan to attend the full day or just for a session or two. There will be a half hour lunch break. Bring a sack lunch and drink.

One person may not be able to attend all sessions. Co-leaders should plan to split up and attend different sessions and then compare notes. It is suggested that at least one leader per troop, not necessarily the same leader, complete Getting Started for the New Troop Leader, PB & J Plus, Grade Level Sharing, Volunteer Toolkit, Troop Finance Basics and Trip Planning Basics. 

The following trainings are also offered as a home study: Getting Started for the New Troop Leader, Grade Level, Troop Finance Basics and Trip Planning Basics. Monthly Volunteer Toolkit webinars are also available.

PB & J Plus 
9 – noon – PB & J Plus (offered two separate times) 
12:30 – 3:30 pm 
Learn how the Journeys and Proficiency Badges work together to provide the best possible Girl Scout experience. Essential for both new and experienced troop leaders. 

Getting Started for the New Troop Leader 
9 – 10:30 am (offered two separate times) 
12:30 – 2 pm 
Learn the basics of the Girl Scout program, how to get your troop started, and troop management tips. Essential for new troop leaders. 

Grade Level Sharing - Daisy 
10:30 – noon 
Are you starting a new troop? Is your troop bridging to the next level? Learn details about your specific grade level. Ask questions, share best practices, network with others. Each grade level will be a separate session. This session will be very helpful to both new and experienced leaders. 

Grade Level Sharing - Brownie 
10:30 – noon 
Are you starting a new troop? Is your troop bridging to the next level? Learn details about your specific grade level. Ask questions, share best practices, network with others. Each grade level will be a separate session. This session will be very helpful to both new and experienced leaders. 

Dealing with Difficult People 
9 – 10:30 am 
Develop skills to help you confidently deal with conflict between girls in the troop or disruptive adults. This session will be very helpful to both new and experienced leaders. 

Songs & Games 
10:30 – noon 
Learn some traditional and some new Girl Scout songs and games. This session will be very helpful to both new and experienced leaders. 

Volunteer Toolkit 
12:30 – 2 pm 
Explore what the VTK has to offer, how it can make your life as a troop leader easier and check out some of the program content including the new Journeys, badges and the Explore and Resources Tabs. Essential for both new and experienced troop leaders. 

Troop Finance Basics 
2 -4 pm 
Learn the responsibilities of managing your troop’s finances. Essential for both new and experienced troop leaders. 

Trip Planning Basics 
2-4 pm 
Learn the ins and outs of planning for Girl Scout field trips, overnights and other travel opportunities. Includes trip planning progression, how to make it girl-led and what council policies and forms you need to be aware of. Essential for both new and experienced troop leaders. 

A Taste of Cookies 
12:30 – 2 pm 
Tidbits to get you prepared for the upcoming Girl Scout Cookie program. This is not the full cookie sale training. 
Grade Level Sharing - Juniors 
2-4 pm
