Ambassador Troop 20654 invites you to join them in celebrating our
“Everyday Heroes” throughout the ENTIRE month of February 2013!

    How can you help?
Commit to making an individually-handcrafted keepsake or treat for chosen Everyday Heroes in your local community… and pledge to deliver them on a specified day. You can participate as a Girl Scout troop… and you can even share the opportunity with other groups… Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, church groups, etc.

Who qualifies as an “Everyday Hero”?
Anyone! Police, fire fighters, teachers, medical personnel, EMTs, bus drivers, etc. If you appreciate what they do, then they qualify for this project! Think about who doesn’t typically get recognized. We want to reach as many people as possible, so please let us know who you’d like to honor so that we don’t duplicate our efforts too much!

    Hmmm… what to make?
You can make anything! Brownies, suckers, cake pops, rice krispy treats, bags of candy, meaningful cards, quality-crafted items… all are great examples. The trick, though, is to make INDIVIDUALLY-packaged units that can be distributed to INDIVIDUALS. Boxes of donuts are nice, but nothing says “thank you” like a personalized effort. Be creative!

    I’m in! Now what?
Email us at CarleyLMarcum@gmail.com and provide the following information no later than 1/7/13:

    • The name of the leader coordinating the group efforts
    • Troop number or group name
    • Which Everyday Heroes you plan to recognize – Be specific
    • What specific item you will create and the quantity
    • The date you plan to deliver your items

We’ll then provide you with tags to attach to each item before you deliver! Tags will explain the project and encourage recipients to pay it forward.

    Why are we doing this?

As a part of the Girl Scout Journey Your Voice, Your World, we are exploring the “flutter effect”. What we do really can make a difference in our world! By reaching as many people as possible over the course of an entire month, we hope to take the annual Random Acts of Kindness WEEK… and turn it into an entire month in which we can “Share the Love”! We need MANY people to help make this a success! Thank you for any help you can provide!
