The Cabin Fever: Pathway Showcase was held on February 9, 2013 and was a new way to recruit girls for Community 210 in Elkhart County. It would not have been possible without the support of the council and the volunteers of Community 210. Concord Mall in Elkhart was host of the event. Everyone that attended the event had a fun time learning and experiencing the opportunities that Girl Scouts has to offer.

It was promoted primarily through full color flyers sent home with every girl in the county in grades kindergarten through the sixth grade.  The flyer was designed by a student at the Elkhart Area Career Center’s Advertising Design program, and printed by the Print Shop in Elkhart, IN. Flyers were distributed to all elementary and intermediate schools by volunteers and Pathway Specialist – Recruiter Kathy Sullivan.  Additional promotion was done by submitting the event to the community calendar to the major Radio and Television station’s websites, along with media releases sent to the Newspapers and Television News channels covering Elkhart County.

One of the highlights from the day included a visit from U.S. Congresswoman Jackie Walorski, R 2nd District. WNDU-TV from South Bend stopped by to interview the Congresswoman, and shared the event in a news story that aired that evening.

Another major highlight from the day was the Camp Pathway display, featuring the Portable Climbing Wall.  The wall was transported, set up, and facilitated by GSNI-M Property staff members Tom Honke and Don Evans.
