Chemical Bank in Michigan chose GSNI-M’s Camp Soni Springs for one of it’s Day of Caring Projects across the state of Michigan on Monday, October 14th. 1,700 volunteers worked on over 230 projects throughout the state of Michigan. Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana – Michiana is honored to have Chemical Bank volunteer their time to help out at Camp Soni Springs!
Chemical Bank sent volunteers from Niles, Buchanan, St. Joseph, Three Oaks and Berrian Springs out to Camp Soni Springs to help with some improvement projects. Volunteers water-sealed the shower house, decking of the tree house and some of the cabins. Four out of 8 volunteers were Girl Scouts when they were younger and 2 were leaders in our council. Tom Grant, from Chemical Bank, who organized the Day of Caring with Camp Soni Springs Site Manager, Don Evans, has been a volunteer with Boy Scouts and feels scouting is a great way to teach kids about the great outdoors and valuable lifelong skills.
GSNI-M had a great time getting to know our friends from Chemical Bank and look forward to working with them again. We are humbled by the generosity of the community in supporting Girl Scouts. Thank you for all you do, Chemical Bank!
