GIRL SCOUTS OF LIMBERLOST COUNCIL – www.girlscouts-limberlost.org
Girl Scouts of Limberlost Council administers programs in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Steuben, and Wells counties in northeast Indiana. Our council history dates back to 1918. Today, across these counties in northern Indiana, nearly 10,000 girls of all ages are learning at troop meetings, building skills through individual and team activities, and giving back to the community through service projects. They are mentored by more than 2,200 adult volunteers.

The Council’s Mary Jane McMillen Crowe Leadership and Learning Center is easily accessible near the intersection of I-469 and I-69 in northern Allen County. Funded by the recently completed “A Promise to Every Girl” capital campaign, the 18,000-square-foot, two-story facility opened in November 2006. It features enhanced meeting, learning, program and training space, and the conveniently located and fully-stocked “Patches & S’more…” Council Store. The dynamic facility provides personal interaction opportunities while offering positive and efficient work space for girls, volunteers, and staff.

The Council also owns and operates two outdoor facilities. McMillen Program Center includes 103 acres of wooded ravines, meadows, and trails in northern Allen County. It's where girls explore the out-of-doors through troop and summer camp activities. In the summer, day camp sessions operate and girls participate in songs, games, water fun, trail walks, sports, and so much more. They enjoy cookouts, nature activities, and the climbing tower and zipline.

Camp Logan is comprised of 220 acres of woods, meadows, ravines, and natural wetlands in Syracuse, Indiana. The camp is open year-round and provides a variety of possibilities, including summer resident (overnight) camp programs. Overnight camp offers girls a variety of experiences, including horseback riding, swimming and canoeing in Dewart Lake. Troops looking for exciting outdoor or camping opportunities may choose to spend a day, a night, or a weekend at Camp Logan.

Girl Scouts of Limberlost Council is proud of its recognition as one of the top 10 Girl Scout councils in the nation in regard to membership diversity. The council is currently reaching 1 in every 2 American Indian girls, 1 in every 3 African American girls, 1 in every 3 Hispanic/Latina girls, 1 in every 4 Asian girls, and 1 in every 5 Caucasian girls.
