The Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana Web site is not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information not entered by visitors. The site logs do generate certain kinds of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and site visits. This information is used for internal purposes by technical support staff to provide better services to the public and may also be provided to others, but again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.

Girl Scouts of Limberlost Council, Girl Scouts of Singing Sands Council, Girl Scouts of Tribal Trails Council, and Indiana Lakeland Girl Scout Council keep all girl and adult membership information confidential. The councils do not share, rent or sell membership or mailing list information. All staff, volunteers, agents and contractors with access to personal information adhere to the councils’ confidentiality policy.

The councils may release personal information under the following circumstances:
   • Where release is required by law (for example, a subpoena) or regulation or is requested by a        government agency;
   • Where information indicates potential fraudulent activity or other deceptive practices that a       governmental agency should be made aware of;
   • To appropriate persons, if communication suggests possible harm to others.
