POLICY
The Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana Web site is not set up to track,
collect or distribute personal information not entered by visitors.
The site logs do generate certain kinds of non-identifying site
usage data, such as the number of hits and site visits. This information
is used for internal purposes by technical support staff to provide
better services to the public and may also be provided to others,
but again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot
be used to gather such information.
A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser
from a Web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. This
Web site uses non-identifying cookies to provide easier site navigation
and access to forms. You can still use the site if your browser
is set to reject cookies. These cookies do not generate personal
data, do not read personal data from your machine and are never
tied to anything that could be used to identify you.
If you choose to submit any electronic submission via this Web site,
unless you otherwise consent, we will use your personal information
only for the purpose for which it is submitted, such as to reply
to your e-mails, handle your feedback, and process requests related
to program participation, and we will use such information to provide
operational notices and in program record-keeping. Physical, electronic
and managerial procedures have been employed to safeguard the security
and integrity of any personal information collected.
Girl Scouts of Limberlost Council, Girl Scouts of Singing Sands
Council, Girl Scouts of Tribal Trails Council, and Indiana Lakeland
Girl Scout Council keep all girl and adult membership information
confidential. The councils do not share, rent or sell membership
or mailing list information. All staff, volunteers, agents and contractors
with access to personal information adhere to the councils’
confidentiality policy.
The councils may release personal information under the following
circumstances:
• Where release is required by law (for example,
a subpoena) or regulation or is requested by a government
agency;
• Where information indicates potential
fraudulent activity or other deceptive practices that a governmental
agency should be made aware of;
• To appropriate persons, if communication
suggests possible harm to others.
Girl Scouts of the USA and its councils ensures fair and equal treatment
in all its practices, to all persons, regardless of race, color,
