Teddy Bear Clinic
Daisies-Juniors are invited to grab their favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal and join staff at Lakeland Primary Care Clinic for a Teddy Bear Clinic! Girls will learn about basic healthy habits like hand-washing, nutrition and exercise, and learn first-hand what doctors and nurses do in a variety of hands-on interactive activities! Girls’ stuffed animals from home will serve as the patients, while girls act as the physicians. By having girls serve as the physicians, and allowing them to handle real medical equipment, Lakeland Primary Care Clinic hopes to provide girls with a sense of control over their environment, which can help make the environment less threatening.
This is not a drop-off event. Parents and/or leaders are expected to provide supervision. Our programs are designed and planned for our girl members. We are not equipped to accommodate siblings at council and collaborator events. Thank you for your understanding.
For everyone’s safety, girls and parents/leaders are asked to wear face masks for the entirety of this program. If you or your girl are feeling ill, we ask that you stay home.
