GIDDY UP, GIRLS! Its time to ride over to Camp Ella J. Logan where adventure, friendship, and cowgirl spirit come together under the vast, open sky. Our Cowgirl Camp is a rootin tootin experience designed for aspiring young equestrians and outdoor enthusiasts. From sunrise horseback rides to starlit campfire stories, our camp blends adventure, learning, and the joy of the great outdoors. Yeehaw!

Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to experience some of the classic activities such as swimming, hiking, biking, and campfires. In addition to these, we offer a range of skill-building workshops and lessons. At Cowgirl Camp you will embark on a journey filled with exciting activities that capture the essence of the cowgirl way of life. Campers can earn Horseback Riding and Animal Helpers badges.

AM Session: Equine Levels 1-3
Designed for beginning horseback riders, start your journey by learning handling, grooming, saddling, walking, and trotting. Girl Scouts will gain experience and learn how to approach, lead, groom, saddle, and control a horse safely. By the end of the week, participants will have the confidence and independence to saddle and ride a horse. Ground lessons will include learning about the parts of a horse, grooming techniques, games, and more. To celebrate their hard work, participants will learn trail safety and explore the two hundred beautiful acres of Camp Ella J. Logan.

PM Session: Equine Levels 4-6
Riders will build on their existing skills and work towards more advanced objectives. While practicing safe horse handling, grooming, saddling, bridling, and control at walk, trot, and lope, riders will also explore more challenging trails and may even have the opportunity to camp overnight with their horses. In addition to these practical skills, riders will also learn about various aspects of the horse industry such as purchasing, ownership, veterinary care, and equine-related career opportunities through ground lessons. The week rounds out with a special caregiver rodeo where the girls will show off everything they have learned.
