Volunteer of Excellence
There are two types of awards & recognitions for volunteers: those that are earned and those for which a volunteer must be nominated. Check it out below! All nomination paperwork is due Friday, March 15.

Know of an awesome Girl Scout volunteer? Nominate them for an award! Formal adult awards are available to recognize exemplary service of adult Girl Scouts who go above and beyond the expectations of an individual’s volunteer position. Volunteers, girl members, and/or their families may nominate someone for an award. There is also an award specifically for local community partners that support Girl Scouts.
Volunteer of Excellence
This award recognizes volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through use of the National Program Portfolio, or who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission delivery to girl and adult members.
This pin recognizes an individual’s exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience primarily within on geographic service area.
This pin recognizes an individual’s exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This support has had measurable impact on two or more geographic areas.
This pin honors an individual whose ongoing commitment, leadership, and service have had an exceptional, measurable impact on meeting the mission-delivery goals and priorities of the entire council or the entire Girl Scout movement.
Thanks Badge II
This pin honors a previous Thanks Badge recipient who has continued to provide exemplary service in a leadership role which resulted in a measurable impact benefitting the entire Girl Scout movement.
Heart of Gold Award
This award recognizes volunteers who have given outstanding long-time service to Girl Scouts by being a registered member for at least 10 years and by providing exemplary service in a leadership role that has significantly enriched the members of GSNI-M.
Trained Leader ID Pin
Have you completed all essential learning? Fill out this form! This award recognizes Leaders who have completed all essential learning.
This award recognizes members of your local community who have provided a service to Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana at the troop, community or council level.
Volunteer Years of Service
This pin recognizes an adult member for years of active volunteer service at five-year intervals.
Membership Year Pin
This pin recognizes tenure in Girl Scouting. Numeral guards are available in five-year intervals to recognize total girl and adult membership years.
