This training is designed specifically for teaching fire building, maintenance, and safety to your troop. This training will provide lots of hands-on activities that you can then use with your troop, such as: making an edible fire, creating fire starters, and more. As a volunteer, you can even bring your registered Girl Scout to this training and go through the activities together!

This training is outside so please dress appropriately for the weather, including closed-toe shoes. We'll be making (and consuming) edible fires and S'mores so make sure and include any allergies on your registration form.

This training is the first level in our series of outdoor education trainings and is required to enjoy a campfire with your troop. During this training, the trainer will discuss Level 2 training - required for camping at a Girl Scout site. If you previously completed Outdoor Basics, you are not required to complete Teaching Campfire Safety, but we recommend it for everyone. Who doesn't need troop activity ideas, especially for something as important as fire safety?!

Additional information about description: THIS IS AN ADULT TRAINING. Registered girls can only attend with their adult caregiver. Adults do not have to bring their Girl Scout but they are welcome to attend!
