Troop leaders, volunteers, and parents are invited to join us for
Youth Mental Health First Aid training. Youth Mental Health First Aid
is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers,
school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and
other caring citizens how to help an adolescent who is experiencing a
mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental
Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly
interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health
challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and
teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both
crisis and non-crisis situations.
At the completion of
the day's training, you'll receive a certificate that you're certified
in Youth Mental Health First Aid.
This course is valued
at $170 but is available at a discounted rate thanks to very generous
funding from GSUSA.
This is a blended training which will
require approximately 2 hours of online pre-work prior to the
in-person training. Pre-work must be completed prior to the in-person
portion of the course.
Time: 1:00 - 5:00pm EST (with an
additional 2 hours of pre-work online on your own before the in-person
training on 4/5!)
